Dr. Ferhat Celep is one of the leading taxonomists in Turkey. He completed his PhD thesis on the taxonomy of Turkish Salvia species (Lamiaceae) at the Middle East Technical University (METU) Ankara, Turkey, and now holds the position of an assistant professor at Nevşehir University (Turkey). His major research interest deals with the taxonomy of different Turkish genera, in particular with the genus Salvia.
